The problem today
Packers copy addresses into Shiprocket, Shippo or a carrier portal, compare 3–4 rates by hand, print labels and paste tracking numbers back into Shopify or SAP. Today: 3–8 minutes per order. Wrong PIN codes and cancelled orders that still ship cost money and return-to-origin charges.
What it does
When an order is ready to ship, rules choose the carrier from your list, check the address and parcel, and check the cost against your limits. A label is bought only when the order is paid (or cash on delivery in India, or a listed credit-terms customer) and is not cancelled, on hold or already labelled. Tracking goes back to Shopify or SAP, and the customer can get a template notice. If a delivery is late, stuck, failed or returned, your team gets a task with a short summary and an unsent draft reply.

What you get
Key features- Carrier rules by zone, cash on delivery, weight band, delivery speed and blocked carriers; ties go to the carrier with the best on-time record.
- Volumetric weight (L×W×H ÷ divisor, default 5,000) and carrier weight, size, PO Box and hazmat limits.
- Cost caps: per-label maximum (default ₹300 / $25), at most 20% of order value, a daily spend cap (default ₹50,000 / $2,000), and a flag on rate jumps over 30%.
- Batch approval of up to 50 plain labels in one click.
- Address fix suggestions when validation fails, for a person to accept or reject.
- Never buys twice: after a lost reply, it looks the purchase up before doing anything else.
- When an order is cancelled after the label, it offers a "void label" card.
How much does it do on its own?

Shadow vs Auto for Shipping Automation
Auto is the most it can do on its own. Here is each step side by side.

|---|---|---|
| In short | Runs on real data and shows what it would have done. No app is changed and no message is sent. | Runs without approval, with limits, alerts and a kill switch. Unlocks after a trial period in Assisted. |

What it will never do on its own
Safety & human control- Never buys a label for an unpaid, cancelled, held, refunded or already-labelled order; it re-checks right before and right after buying.
- AI address suggestions are never applied without a person.
- A person approves international orders, cash on delivery above ₹5,000 (default), COD to a phone with a past return, hazmat, edited addresses and anything over a cost limit.
- Customer messages never promise refunds, reshipping or new delivery dates, and exception drafts are never sent automatically.
- Customer addresses and phones are not stored (only scrambled hashes) and are masked in logs.
- You approve before it acts
- Your data stays yours
- It knows its limits
- Stop anytime

Measured on your own data
A Bengaluru home-goods store tags 200 Shopify orders "ready-to-ship" each morning. Paid domestic orders under the caps get Shiprocket labels in seconds, while a ₹7,500 cash-on-delivery order waits on the dispatch lead's card. A parcel stuck for 3 days opens a Slack task with a plain summary and a draft reply.
